“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.” -Charles M. Schulz
The Spirit of Christmas of Chippewa County, Inc. extends a sincere thank you to all those who sponsored, volunteered, and participated in the 27th Annual Spirit of Christmas (SOC) event. The county-wide community’s support and generosity to the SOC, made it possible for 552 homes with 1391 children to have a little brighter Christmas. It couldn’t have happened without your help. The assistance with the 2015 campaign came in the form of direct sponsorship of families, donated funds allowing the SOC to purchase gifts, providing gifts to the SOC, displaying gift-giving trees in your workplaces, knitting of mittens, hats, slippers, and scarves, and construction of blankets. All of this help is needed and instrumental to making this possible.
Thanks to the local newspapers, television and radio stations for the media coverage and the businesses and workplaces which displayed SOC posters or notices that helped to get the word out to county residents about the SOC event. Also, thank you to the various organizations that provided the SOC with a discount for mailings or printed materials.
Thanks also to the volunteers, organizations, and students of area schools, who collected, packed, transported, and distributed the gifts in Chippewa Falls, Cadott and Stanley. A special thank you to the business which provides a spacious and comfortable “workshop” for the volunteers to carry out the gift preparations for the event. And finally, a big thanks to all the board members and volunteers of the Spirit of Christmas who work year-round, preparing for this annual event. The success of SOC program continues today because of your dedication to community service.
The Spirit of Christmas of Chippewa County, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt, all-volunteer organization. For more information call Spirit of Christmas headquarters at 715-944-4272,

About us
The Spirit of Christmas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt, tax-deductible charity that has been incorporated under the laws of the State of Wisconsin since 1996. The organization was formed in 1988 at the request of the Chippewa Falls Clergy who saw a real need in the community and has been in operation since then. 2016 will be our 28th year.
The Spirit of Christmas is staffed by volunteers with no paid staff and no permanent office. We’ve been able to operate in donated space for packing and storing donated gifts.
Persons residing in Chippewa County that need assistance during the Christmas season complete an application and list their children and the gift wishes for the children. From this application, gifts are matched to the best of our ability based on the wishes listed and distributed to the families prior to Christmas. The applications are available at Chippewa County Human Services and the Salvation Army in Chippewa Falls.
The gifts provided to the families are the result of the generous donations of many persons and organizations throughout the Chippewa Valley. These donations come in the form of actual gifts and money. The money received is used to purchase gifts to supplement the actual gifts donated.
